Pay classification report for attendance data
What does it do?
A pay classification report that pulls employee attendance data for any selected date range and automatically sorts every hour worked into the correct pay rate tier (100%, 125%, 150% or 175%) based on configurable shift timing rules. It turns raw clock-in data into a ready-to-use payroll breakdown that reflects exactly what each employee is owed according to local timezone rules.
When should it be used?
Pull this up at the end of every payroll cycle for any team working variable or shift-based hours. It's particularly valuable for organisations with weekend, evening or overnight shifts where different hours carry different pay rates, ensuring employees are paid accurately for every hour in the right classification. Also useful for payroll audits, resolving disputes over shift premiums, and giving managers visibility into how attendance patterns translate into payroll costs before the numbers are finalised.
What's inside?
- A payroll cycle picker or custom date range selector to define the reporting period.
- A team and job title filter so the report can be run across any role or department, not just a single hardcoded title.
- Configurable pay classification rules. Set once as defaults, adjustable any time - covering standard shifts, Friday morning, Friday evening, Saturday night and any other shift window that carries a premium rate.
- A per-employee breakdown table showing total hours worked during the period, split out by pay rate tier with the exact hour count and percentage for each classification.
- A summary of the total payable amount per employee across all tiers, ready for payroll processing.
